Gazprom Neft has started to drill another 3 exploratory wells at Chona block of deposits

​ Gazprom Neft has started to drill 3 exploratory wells at the Chona project where in 2014 it increased its oil reserves by 1.5 times.

The company plans to drill one well at each of 3 sites – Ignyalinsky, Vakuinaysky and Tympuchikan – of the Chona block located on the border of the Irkutsk region and Sakha. Gazprom Neft works along with JOGMEC (Japan) at the Ignyalinsky block, at another 2 blocks – by itself.

The C1+C2 reserves of the 3 sites of the Chona project exceed 210 mln tons of oil and 270 bln cubic m of gas.

The active geological exploratory works on the territory of the Chona project started 3 years ago. In total 9 exploratory and appraisal wells have been drilled at the 3 deposits, 5 of which in 2014.
