Turkey wants to by pass around the Ukraine – Ankara agrees to extend Blue Stream

Turkey was the first of the countries that could suffer from termination of deliveries of Russian gas through the Ukraine, which has made it clear that it is not going to give up energy cooperation with Russia. According to the Turkish Minister of Energy Taner Yildiz, Ankara offers Moscow to increase capacity of the Blue Stream gas pipeline, which directly connects the countries under the Black Sea. According to experts, in the case of doubling of the pipeline’s capacity Turkey will be able to get rid of dependence on gas supplies via the western route through the Ukraine.
