Gazprom Neft has held 18-stage layer hydrofracturing for the first time

Gazprom Neft-Khantos has held the 18-stage layer hydrofracturing at the South-Priobsky deposit in the Khanty Mansi Autonomous Area. Gazprom Neft GC has held such an operation for the first time. Until now the maximum number of stages was 15 in one bore of a horizontal well held in December 2015 at the same deposit. It is possible to increase the number of stages due to the application of the ball-free technology.

At the well depth of about 4 km the length of the horizontal site was 920 m, the expected operational potential is at least 80 tons of oil a day, by 15% more than the oil extraction rate after holding layer hydrofracturing with a fewer number of stages. A particular feature of the applied structure of horizontal site is an opportunity to execute works on the intensification of flow in the process of the entire period of operation. The application of the multi-stage layer hydrofracturing gives an opportunity not only to increase well output but in future will led to the increase of the stake of developed scavenger reserves by means of selection of the best method of development of the edge sites of the deposit.
