The events in Ukraine may prevent the transaction between Rosneft and Morgan Stanley.

The events in Ukraine and around the referendum in the Crimea can create problems for "Rosneft" in buying the oil trading business of the investment bank Morgan Stanley, reports The Wall Street Journal, citing the sources familiar with the situation.

In December 2013, a "subsidiary" of "Rosneft", registered in the Russian Federation, signed a binding contract with Morgan Stanley. The scope of the deal covered the access to the international network of depots, significant reserves of oil and oil products, related contracts with consumers, as well as stocks and shares in subsidiaries specialized in the field of infrastructure.
