European spot gas prices exceed the prices of Gazprom for the first time since 2008

European spot gas prices have exceeded the prices of Gazprom and the positions of the gas holding proved to be stronger that the market expected, Citi states in its analysis.

Particularly, spot gas prices in Great Britain increased by 27% on March 1 – to $13.9 per thousand cubic feet from $10.6. The analogous dynamics was noticed at European trading grounds, spot prices at Zeebrugge increased by 23% within the same period and reached $12.9 per thousand cubic feet, the prices at PEG Nord (France) increased by 20% - to $12.7.
