There is surplus of diesel fuel in Russia, but a risk with petrol

Most of vertically integrated companies switched to the production of gasoline of the 5th environmental class, however, it was decided to transfer the full transition to the 5th grade from July 1. What is the reason? That was the question, asked by the Russian President Vladimir Putin to the Minister of Energy Alexander Novak at the meeting with members of the Government on January 13. Here's what he answered.

In 2011, an extensive work on the reconstruction and modernization of refineries began. It is assumed to launch 133 new plants and upgrade old ones by 2020. 58 plants are already upgraded and built, over the past four years the companies invested more than 1 trillion rubles, which eliminated the use of motor fuel of the 2nd environmental class from 2013, and the 3rd ecological class from 2015.

Already in 2015, the production of gasoline of the 5th grade was 85%, diesel fuel – 70%. From January 1, 2016, the 4th grade of diesel fuel was totally excluded from the turnover.
