Gazprom Neft has successfully tested a new Russian technology of APG processing

Gazprom Neft-Vostok has successfully completed the pilot testing of the Russian innovation technology of soft steam reforming for the processing of APG. On the results of tests held at the Krapivninsky deposit in the Omsk region, the new technology is recommended for implementation at the company’s enterprises, primarily at small and far located ones, while other methods of useful APG use are not effective and inapplicable.

The soft steam reforming unit allows to process one of the APG components into gas – broad fraction o light hydrocarbons without its prior separation. The produced good is ready for use in the electric energy generation or can be directed to the pipeline for further pumping to consumers. The technology was worked out by the Boreskov Institution, the unit for its application at the deposits is produced by the affiliate of the Institution – B I Technology under the supervision of experts of the Department for Gas and Energy of Gazprom Neft and the company’s scientific and technical center. The structure of the unit allows it to be easily transported to the far located deposits. In the process of tests, the rate of hydrocarbons turning from ethane and higher into methane made up 94% that exceeds the planned rates.
