The 4th unit of the most powerful thermal power plant in Russia, which was damaged by fire, will take at least six months to be back in full operation. At this time, the Tyumen energy system will lose 800 MW - about 5% of its total generation.
It is reported that the restoration of the most affected N4 unit with capacity of 800 MW will require at least six months. The Russian Federation Ministry of Civil Defence and Emergency Response said earlier that it would spend a year. Launch of the 5th power unit, stopped after the fire, is scheduled for January 19th.
