South Stream Hungary signs a contract for designing of Hungarian sector of South Stream

South Stream Hungary signed the contract for designing of Hungarian sector of South Stream, Gazprom reports.

In Q1, 2014 it is planned to complete development of the technical design documents to specify the route within the territory of Hungary. During the negotiations it was confirmed that construction of Hungarian sector would start in April 2015 and the first gas deliveries to Hungary – in 2017.

South Stream is the global infrastructural project of Gazprom aimed at construction of the gas line (63 billion cubic metres) to South and Central Europe in order to diversify the natural gas export routes and avoid transit risks.
