In Q3 2015 PJSC "Severstal" increased its steel production by 2% compared to Q2 2015 - to 2.89 million tons, the company informs. In Q2 smelting amounted to 2.85 million tons. In Q3 2015 pig iron production increased by 1% to 2.31 million tons compared to the previous quarter (Q2 2015: 2.29 million tons). "This evolution is largely a reflection of the low base effect, as steel production in Q2 2015 was lower due to a short-term repair of the converter №3 and continuous steel casting units at converters №2 and №4", - the company explained.
