Norway's Statoil sells its stake in the Shah Deniz to Malaysian Petronas.

The Norwegian company "Statoil" sold its 15.5% share in the extraction project of "Shah Deniz" in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea to Malaysian "Petronas", the Norwegian company informs.

The report notes that Statoil has also sold Petronas its 15.5% stake in the "Southern Gas Corridor" project (South Caucasus Pipeline Company, SCPC) and 12.4% stake in the company AGSC (Azerbaijan Gas Supply Company).

The transaction value is $ 2.25 billion.

"It is expected that the transaction will be closed in early 2015, subject to approval by the relevant authorities", - the statement informs.
