Russia to make a secret out of oil and gas reserves

The Russian Government is about to prohibit information transfer on oil and gas resources to American companies. “Izvestiya” writes on August 13.

The Commission for Ecological Safety of the Security Council of the Russian Federation ordered the relevant departments to develop measures on the interference with geological information transference to other countries, the edition writes. Two largest American companies, engaged in geological audit, Miller & Lents и DeGolyer & MacNaughton have data on mineral and resources base of Russia to date.

In order to defend the information on oil and gas resources the commission ordered to create a national system in the field of mineral reserves audit. The State Committee for Mineral Reserves and Central Development Committee at Rosnedra collect information at present.
