Banks not to finance deals of Rosneft’s Japanese customers

Once again Rosneft has faced the American sanctions: some Japanese companies, large buyers of the ESPO oil, couldn’t participate in Rosneft’s tenders for raw materials supply. A number of banks refused to finance their deals being afraid of sanctions.

In July the Japanese buyers couldn’t participate in Rosneft’s tenders on the sale ESPO oile with the supply in September, The Financial Times reported referring to JBC Energy. According to Argus Media, one of the Japanese companies has confirmed it couldn’t participate in the tender of Rosneft as the banks refused to finance the deal. Among the potential creditors were Credit Agricole, Sumitomo Banking and Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ, Argus writes.
