Ferrous metal purchases in the Russian ship-building sector went up by 17%

In January-June 2012, according to rail-road statistics, direct supplies of cast iron, rolled steel, pipes and semi-finished products to the leading ship-building and repair facilities of Russia reached 92 thousand tons. It is by 16.5 more than during the same period in 2011 and by 8% more than in 2010.

Three companies reduced the purchases against last year. They are a manufacturing division “Sevmash” (Arkhangelsk region, 16.5 thousand tons) – by 30%, the plant “Krasnoye Sormovo” (Nizhny Novgorod, 7.2 thousand tons – 9.3%) and the Baltic plant (St. Petersburg, 3.7 thousand tons – 13.7%).

The following enterprises increased ferrous metal incomes: Slavyansk ship-building yard (Primorski Krai) – 10.6 thousand tons (+49.4%), a ship-building facility “Krasnyie barrikady” (Astrakhan region) – 9.8 thousand tons, a ship-building plant “Lotos” (Astrakhan region) – 6.6 thousand tons (+28%) Zelenodolsky plant named after M.Gorky (Tatarstan) – 6.6 thousand tons (+3.7%), Kriushensky ship-yard (Ulyanovsk region) – 4.9 thousand tons (+26 times). The supplies to the federal state unitary enterprise “Admiralteiskiye verfi” increased by 1.6 times to 4.6 thousand tons. Okskaya SY (Nizhny Novgorod region) increased the purchases of metals by more than 2 times (3.3 thousand tons).
