Tatneft plans to annually extract 1.7-1.9 mln tons of super-viscous oil

In 2016 Tatneft plans to turn to the annual extraction of 1.7-1.9 mln tons of super-viscous oil, deputy CEO for development and extraction of oil and gas of Tatneft said.

Oil production is held at 450 layers now with 12 uplands. Each small site of oil development at small depths has 250 wells. The maximum extraction is expected in 2018 and will make up 1.9 mln tons.

This is one of the key results of Tatneft’s strategy until 2025. The strategy presupposes the annual oil extraction of 30 mln tons of oil, now the company extracts 22 mln tons a year. 1.9 mln tons are planned to be made at the Ashalchinsky deposit.

In the past few months 8 drilling companies were replaced by 2.

Due to the oil price fall Tatneft shut down further development of the Ashalchinsky deposit of super-viscous oil for an unlimited time.
