Gazpromneft carries out 30-stage hydraulic fracturing for the first time

Gazpromneft-Khantos, a subsidiary of Gazpromneft, has concluded 30-stage hydraulic fracturing at the South-Priobskoye field in the Khanty-Mansiysk autonomous district. Operation with such characteristics is carried out in the Russian oil and gas industry for the first time. Its implementation became possible due to the use of new technologies and will improve the efficiency of development of the company's assets. Until now, the maximum figure for Gazpromneft was conducting the fracturing of 18 stages in a bore of horizontal well. This operation was also carried out at the South-Priobskoye field of Gazpromneft-Khantos in March 2016.

The 30-stage hydraulic fracturing was carried out in a record for the South-Priobskoe field horizontal section of the well with length of 1.5 thousand meters, while the total length of the well is over 4.6 thousand meters. The depth of the oil reservoir is more than 2.6 thousand meters. Insulation of intervals, in which the hydraulic fracturing has been completed, is achieved through the use of reusable packer (a device for sealing individual zones of the well), descending in a flexible tubing string. 1.2 thousand tons of proppant were used to conduct the 30-stage hydraulic fracturing. Also the feature of the well was cementing of horizontal section along its entire length, thus improving the efficiency of cracks control due to their dissociation by cement ring.
