Gazprom challenges in court the decision of Ukrainian Antimonopoly Committee

Gazprom has challenged in the Economic Court of Kiev decision of the Antimonopoly Committee of the Ukraine on a fine in the amount of almost 86 billion hryvnis.

Earlier the Committee fined Gazprom 85.86 billion hryvnias (about $3.4 billion at the current exchange rates) for the abuse of dominant position on the gas transit market. The term till April 12th was given Gazprom to pay the penalty. At the same time, Gazprom then expressed its surprise, as it didn’t engage in entrepreneurial activity on the territory of the Ukraine, passing gas to Naftogaz Ukrainy on the western border of the Russian Federation.
