Wintershall plans to continue to increase gas production in Russia

German company Wintershall (100% subsidiary of BASF) plans to continue to increase gas production in Russia, the company reports.

“In particular, the company plans to activate the oil and gas production at its main regions, such as Russia and Norway, and extend its business in South Africa, North Africa and Middle East,” – it says.

As of end of 2013 the volume of proved oil and gas reserves in the company grew by 20% as compared with 2012 to 1.458 billion barrels of hydrocarbons in oil equivalent. The production increased from 80 million barrels in 2000 to 132 million barrels in 2013. Wintershall intends to continue to increase hydrocarbon production in the coming years, particularly to 160 million barrels by 2015 due to new projects and investments in the existing assets.
