Turkey shouldn’t hurry with TANAP gas pipeline

Southern Gas Corridor, the investment in which will make up $45 billion, is one of the key projects for the supply of gas to the European Union, said the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of Turkey Taner Yildiz said at a meeting of the Advisory Board of Southern Gas Corridor in Baku, whose words are quoted by World Bulletin.

Turkey has increased its stake in the development of the Caspian field Shah Deniz 2. From there, from 2018, the Azerbaijani gas will be supplied via the 3500-kilometer Southern Gas Corridor in Europe - through Georgia, Turkey and Greece to Albania and Italy. 6 billion cubic meters of gas of the 16 billion cubic meters of the pipeline’s initial capacity will be supplied to the domestic market of Turkey.
