Gold extraction in Chukotka rose 43% over 11 months

The subsoil users of the Chukotka Autonomous Area increased gold extraction by 43% to 29.46 tons over 11 months 2014.

The volume of silver production fell 17% to 126.73 tons.

The growth of the precious metal extraction is connected with the launch in 2013 of a processing plant at the Maysky deposit and a mine at the Dvoynoy deposit.

The leader on the precious metal production in the region stays “Chukotka mining and geological company” CJSC which develops the Kupol deposit. Within the reported period the enterprise extracted 10.6 tons of gold and 110.57 tons of silver.
