Reconstruction of Sayano-Shehunskaya hydro-electric power station completed

The reconstruction of the Sayano-Shehunskaya hydro-electric power station after the accident in 2009 has been completed - the station has reached its designed capacity. As the Kremlin’s web-site reports, President Vladimir Putin gave the order to start the last of the ten hydraulic units of the power plants, damaged during the accident in 2009, in the mode of a videoconference.

The President described repairs as serious and large-scale, as a result of them, the plant moved to a absolutely new level. "Just incredible efficiency - 96.6%,the units should work for 40 years, their service life was significantly increased, - said Vladimir Putin. - It's a very good performance of all professionals’ work: hydropower specialists, who work at the station, and our energy engineers".
