Polygon of shale oil of the Domanic deposits to be created in Tatarstan before 2015

A polygon of the shale oil of Domanic deposits in Tatarstan will be created in 2014, the deputy general director and chief geologist of Tatneft, Rais Salikhov reported.

"The creation of a polygon for Tatarstan for the geological exploration and the development of Domanic deposits implies work on the analysis of seismic data, core-samples from previously drilled wells, drilling and core taking from new wells, the drilling of horizontal wells with multiple hydraulic fracturing under the methodical, scientific and technical support of scientists of Tatneft, Tatarstan Academy of Sciences, Moscow State University and Russian Academy of Sciences. These works are currently carried out at Tatneft’s fields. The polygon can be formally approved this year on the basis of these results as a demonstrative to summarize the work of experts of different companies, institutions,"- said Salikhov.
