Moscow oil refinery plant might be shut down

The plant is considered to be guilty in environmental pollution.

There is an official company to be blamed for the environmental pollution in Moscow – the Moscow oil refinery plant of Gazprom Neft. According to Rosprirodnadzor, the plant has been emitting pollutant substances without a permission. Now it might not only be fined but shut down which can cause a serious misbalance in the fuel market of Russia. The company rejects all the claims but it doesn’t really have any permission.

On November 10th the Ministry of Natural Resources named he Moscow oil refinery plant of Gazprom Neft responsible for the emission of hydrogen sulphide and other pollutant substances. According to the Ministry, it is about “a multiple times exceeding the permissible exposure limit”. In the samples taken at 2 places on the border of the sanitary protection zone of the Moscow oil refinery plant and neighboring streets (the permissible exposure limit was exceeded by 30 times) as well as xylol by twice) and propanal (by 13 times). The exceeded permissible limit of hydrogen sulphide was noticed at all points, including at the enterprise. The air was checked from the downstream side of the plant.
