Kazakhstan postpones CPC extension to the end of the year

Kazakhstan is behind schedule of the Caspian pipeline consortium’s oil pipeline extension, which is one of the routes for oil export from the Kashagan field; but it promises to complete the first stage of the extension to 42-48 from 32 million tons before the end of 2013, the Reuters reports, referring to the Head of Kaztransoil Kairgeldi Kabyldin. According to him, Kazakhstan is behind the schedule of the pipe extension because of technical difficulties. Earlier, as the agency reported, the Transneft’s Vice President Mikhail Barkov said that the pipeline extension was behind the schedule for 0.5-1 year.
