Azerbaijan to increase gas supplies through Iran

Azerbaijan plans to increase the gas supplies to the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic (NAR); in connection with this it applied to Iran on issue of its transport through the country, the Deputy Oil Minister for International Affairs, Ali Majedi reported.

According to him, at present Azerbaijan supplies less than 1 billion cubic meters of gas per year to the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. "Iran is going to accept the proposal of the Azerbaijani side, and in the near future a meeting dedicated to the issue will be held," - said Ali Majedi.
