Vyksa metallurgic plant certificates pipes from its own flat products for Gazprom’s projects

The Vyksa metallurgic plant (VMZ, a part of OMK) has successfully carried out field tests of large diameter pipes from wide flat products, made at the mill-5000, continuously cast slabs for which were supplied by NLMK.

Results of the test of pipes with diameter of 1420 mm and wall thickness of 27.7 mm from steel of the K65 strength class confirmed their correspondence to Gazprom’s requirements. In particular, they may be used for construction of gas pipelines with working pressure of 11.8 MPa, as, for example, the main gas pipeline Bovanenkovo-Ukhta. VMZ also successfully carried out field tests of pipes with diameter of 1420 mm and wall thickness of 23 mm from steel of the K65 strength class for their correspondence to the Gazprom’s requirements in December of 2012.
