Steel pipes import in January-May grew by a third

​In January-May 2016 Russia imported 1.447 mln tons of ferrous metals (group 72). In annual terms the volumes rose by 3.8%. The import from the far abroad countries was 0.48 mln tons, the CIS- 0.967 mln tons.

The  import of ferrous metals without cast iron, ferroalloys, waste and scrap metal made up 1.199 mln tons (-1.07% against January-May 2015). The stake of the CIS was 0.759 mln tons out of this volume.

The import of steel pipes in January-May 2016 made up 0.183 mln tons – by 28.9% more than in January-May 2015. The stake of the CIS is the supplies grew from 0.066 to 0.108 mln tons, import of pipes from the far abroad countries fell from 0.076 to 0.075 mln tons.

The specific weight of metals and products out of them in the structure of import from the far abroad countries in January-May 2016 made up 5.4% (in January-May 2015 – 5.6%).

The value of this group of goods in annual terms fell by 13%, physical volume – by 12.1%.

The import of steel pipes fell by 1.3%, ferrous metals and goods out of them – by 11.6%.
