Belarus doesn’t acknowledge the debt before Gazprom

Belarus doesn’t acknowledge the debt before Gazprom for the shipped gas, the Minister of Energy of Belarus, V. Potupchik, said.

We don’t have any debt, we pay according to the intergovernmental agreement, V. Potupchik said.

According to him, each of the parties treats the intergovernmental agreement in a different way. Russia thinks that there is a price of Yamal but we think that from Jan 1st 2015 equal market prices should be applied, he said.

The Minister of Energy of Russia, A. Novak, thinks in a different way: the debt of Belarus before Gazprom for January-April 2016 makes up over $125 mln.

On May 3rd “Gazprom transgas Belarus” filed a claim to the Arbitration Court of Belarus trying to settle the issue of the underpayment for the shipped gas by the state enterprises of Belarus.
