Rosneft has turned away from shelf projects in Western Siberia

Rosneft has notified the Government of the Murmansk region that it freezes the projects in the region. The approximate period of the shutdown of works is about 6 years, is reported.

The company’s management explains its actions by the reduction of prices for hydrocarbons. In mid 2014 it was decided that the oil companies would set up a supporting coastal base for the realization of their projects. The main transshipment center was planned to be located at the ship repair plant in Murmansk.
