Gazprom to become the largest trader in Turkey

Gazprom Schweiz AG, a member of the Gazprom group, has made an application to purchase a share in the Turkish gas company Akfel Gaz. As a result, after the privatization of the Turkish oil and gas monopoly Botas and the transfer of a part of its contracts to other players, Gazprom may become the largest gas operator in Turkey.
In December 2014, Gazprom and Botas signed a memorandum on the construction of the offshore gas pipeline across the Black Sea instead of South Stream.
