In 2010-2013, Severstal invested 2.4 billion rubles into reconstruction of mill-2000 at CherMK

Active stage of project on reconstruction of hot-rolling mill 2000 has started at the Cherepovets metallurgic plant, one of the largest integrated steel plants in the world. The project to the amount of over 821 million rubles provides for reconstruction of roughing train’s drives to increase the volume of production.

The aim of the project is reconstruction of basic automation system of roughing mill group, which is operated from 1975, introduction of modern automated system of roughing mill group superordinate control level, which was supplied by Siemens. The project will enable to implement the advanced rolling models, increase reliability of equipment operation and annual production at the mill by 270 thousand tons of hot-rolled metal per year.
