Metallurgical plant of R. Akhmetov in Mariupol is shut down

​The Mariupol metallurgical plant Azovsteel reduced the production due to the demand fall in the world markets and a record price fall for metal products.

The plates shop is shut down for 9 days already. There is nothing produced this month.

One converter is working – 8 castings a day. The second one is shut down.

Two furnaces are being operated. 4,785.9 tons of products were produced within a day.

The employees were turned to the 2/3 mode for an unlimited period.

On November 5th the operation mode of the blast-furnace #3 was corrected, cast iron making unit is shut down until the recovery of demand. The blast furnace #5 underwent the planned repair and from November 10th it is under the start-up works. The blast-furnace shop works with 3 furnaces.

Steel making production works with one converter, converter #2 is in reserve. The plates shop is in reserve mode and will be launched on November 16th to fulfill an order. The rest shops are working in the regular mode.
