How "Gazprom" loses billions in the Ukraine.

Recently "Gazprom" and "Naftogaz of Ukraine" reported to have reached an agreement on Russian gas supplies. What does this agreement mean? Is this compromise steady or in the future we can expect a new round of gas confrontation? Vladimir Milov, the director of the Institute of Energy Policy, answers to these questions of RBK.

First of all you need to analyze why "Gazprom" went on pretty serious concessions at the conclusion of the agreement. Contrary to previous requirements, in the remaining months of this year the price of gas supplies to the Ukraine amounted to $ 378 per 1 thousand cubic meters against the previously announced price of $ 485, about which "Gazprom" remained adamant for a long time. In Q1 2015 the price could drop even more. In addition, "Gazprom" has agreed to receive the debt from the Ukraine for the former gas supplies based on the amount of $ 3.1 billion, as the Ukrainians numbered based on a reduced contract price, and not $ 5.3 billion, which "Gazprom" insisted on. The fate of the controversial "Delta" worth $ 2.2 billion will be addressed in the Stockholm arbitration.
