Gazprom wants to save money on the joint production of LNG and helium

Gazprom thinks about saving on the combination of LNG and helium productions, because both processes are carried out at low temperatures.

Gazprom chose the Institute of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics n.a. S.A.Christianovich of the Siberian Department of the Russian Academy of Sciences for the development of the technology of liquefied natural gas and helium concentrate (helium) co-production during the processing of gas from the fields in Eastern Siberia and the Far East. 

The scientists will execute a piece of work for 25.54 million rubles at a maximum purchase price of 35 million rubles. Gazprom VNIIGAZ also participated in the purchase.
