Eurasian Economic Commission proposes to work out plan of polymers market development

The Department of Industrial Policy of the Eurasian Economic Commission has conducted an analysis of the status and development of the sector of plastic and rubber products production, the problems and barriers of the sector in the member countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU), the website of the Department reports.

According to director of the EEC’s Department of Industrial Policy, Vladimir Maltsev, after the analysis the first step towards the development of the internal market of the Union should be the development and adoption of the Roadmap (the Plan) of cooperation in expanding the domestic market of polymer products within the Union in the medium term through until 2020. Furthermore, it is necessary to isolate the manufacture of products from polymers into a separate industry from petrochemical sector. "Such an approach will enable it to concentrate on internal problems and to develop industry solutions," - he stressed.
