Naftogaz offers private companies to start pumping 50% into underground gas storages from August

Naftogaz Ukrainy has offered the private gas companies to begin to pump 50% into the underground gas storages in August, 2014. This was discussed at the meeting of Chairman of the Naftogaz’s Board, Andrei Kobolev with representatives of the private gas companies, the Naftogaz’s press centre reports.

"The Naftogaz’s proposal on the pumping of 50% of gas, produced by the companies-participants of the meeting, into underground gas storage facilities from August 2014 with the right of its taking from January 2015 was discussed at the meeting," – the report says.

According to the Naftogaz’s proposal,all the gas, pumped into underground gas storages, will remain the property of the producer and Naftogaz will contribute to timely taking of gas in the claimed volumes.

The parties also discussed the current problems of the producing companies and economic compensators for market participants. The companies’ representatives agreed to establish a working group to summarize the proposals. A detailed discussion will be continued during the next meeting.
