The discussion of “Yamal LNG” project and LNG supply in China

The co-owner of “NOVATEK” ,Gennady Timchenko and CEO of the Chinese oil-and-gas company CNPC, Zhou Jiping met in Beijing. They exchanged views, relevant to liquefied gas purchase and sale, project management and the financing of Yamal project. Both expressed to increase efforts in accomplishing the project within the agreed time frames. An agreement on the sale of a share in Yamal project was signed by CNPC and NOVATEK in September 2013. In early 2014 the deal was clinched. Under the agreement CNPC is about to finance the project with the help of Chinese banks. There has also been signed a long-term contract on a supply of 3 million tons of LNG a year to China.
