China and Tajikistan to construct a gas pipeline of transit of Turkmen gas to China

CNPC and Tajiktransgas have signed an agreement on creation of a joint venture for the construction and operation of a gas pipeline that creates the conditions for the construction of the fourth branch of the gas pipeline for the transportation of Turkmen natural gas to China, the Xinhua transmits.

The agreement on construction of the Central Asia-China gas pipeline’s fourth branch was signed by the governments of China, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan in September of 2013. The new branch – the D one – is planned to be constructed on route of Turkmenistan- Uzbekistan-Tajikistan-Kyrgyzstan-China.

The new gas pipeline will enable to increase the annual gas transpiration by 25 billion cubic meters. The agreement on it was achieved by the governments of China and Turkmenistan in 2011.
