Residents of Chelyabinsk region hope that construction of Tominsky GOK to improve economic situation in the region

Most residents of the Chelyabinsk region, interviewed by the Russian Public Opinion Research Center (VTsIOM), hope that the construction of Tominsky mining and metallurgical plant (the project is realized by Russian Copper Company, RMK) will benefit the economy of the region.

"The population appreciates the potential economic benefits (of the project): half of the respondents see the benefits of the project for the region's economy as a whole (51%), worsening is forecasted by only 7%," – the Centre reported after the polls.

At the same time, most residents of the studied municipalities (69%) know about the plans to build the Tominsky GOK in the Chelyabinsk region.
