Tatneft increased super-viscous oil debit by 8-10 times with transition from vertical to horizontal wells

The Volga-Kama regional department of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences has held the anniversary session at the base of Aznakayevskneft of Tatneft JSC. The first vice CEO for production, the chief engineer of Tatneft, N. Ibragimov made a report about the development of the deposits bearing super-viscous oil and natural bitumen. He claims that the primary zone for super-viscous oil deposits development is the Cheremshano-Bastryksky zone. Tatneft increased super-viscous oil debit by 8-10 times with transition from vertical to horizontal wells. Now Tatneft has drilled 57 horizontal wells at its deposits.
