Gazprom to sign contract on supply of pipes for the South Stream’s second string before the end of March

Gazprom plans to sign a contract on supply of pipes for the South Stream offshore gas pipeline’s second string before the end of March, the Russian gas holding company reports.

Gazprom’s CEO Alexei Miller has held a meeting on implementation of South Steam and South Corridor projects. It was noted that the creation of a new route for Russian gas transportation, which must increase reliability of the supplies to European consumers and decrease transit risks, is carried out in accordance with schedule. Particularly, on January 29 an agreement on supply of pipes for the first string of the gas pipeline was concluded.
