The EU to build Southern Corridor instead of South Stream

The European Union has decided to accelerate the construction of local gas pipelines in southern Europe. It is necessary to connect it to the power grid energy systems of other the EU member states. This will take place within the framework of the energy concept of the "Connecting Europe". This statement was made by the EU Commissioner for Energy Maros Sefcovic after the meeting of the EU’s Council at the level of Energy Ministers.

"We also need to explore the possibilities of further investment in this infrastructure," - said the Commissioner.
