Tatneft has produced 150,000 tons of super-viscous oil at Ashalchinskoye deposit

Tatneft has produced 150,000 tons of super-viscous oil at the Ashalchinskoye deposit. The company is going to increase production at the deposit by 57% to 65,000 tons in 2012, and the total yield since the start of development will achieve 170,000 tons. Industrial production of super-viscous oil is performed at the deposit by Tatneft’s subdivision Nurlatneft. Its specialists have drilled 14 pairs of wells and one steam-cyclic well. Now they drill the fifteenth pair, and build a productive well. They are to drill 30 pairs more of horizontal wells for putting of the deposit into operaion.

The object of industrial development of super-viscous oil in the company is the sheshminsky horizon of the ufimsky layer of the Cheremshany-Bastryk zone. They are going to perform geological exploration and analysis for the oil reserves estimation in order to send them to the state balance. These works are performed within the ten-year program for super-viscous oil development that will increase oil production. It needs the execution of a large complex of technical measures including the creation of capacities for gas and heat provision, super-viscous oil production, preparing and transporting with allocation of much resource, including finances.

The Government of the Russian Federation edited the order 700-r for the support of the projects of super-viscous oil production. The admission of the beneficial export duty rate for super-viscous oil with viscosity of over 10,000 mPa*s at a rate of 10% of full oil duty for 10 years will to efficiently develop super-viscous oil deposits , that is one of the most perspective sources for enlargement in its reserves at the background of exhaustion of its traditional reserves.
