Export of scrap metal from the Ukraine reaches maximum level over the past 10 years

On the results of June, exports of ferrous scrap made up 230 thousand tons, which is the highest monthly value in the past ten years. Last time the higher export monthly figures took place only in November 2004 (260 thousand tons), when by results of the year 2.5 million tons were exported, Ukrainian Industrial Export Examination reports.

According to Ukrainian Industrial Export Examination, the prices of exported Ukrainian scrap metal (on FOB terms), increased from $210-220 per ton in April to $250 in May, fell to $200-210 per ton in early July.

In June, about 182 thousand tons or 80% of scrap metal were delivered to Turkey, 19% or 45 thousand tons of raw materials were shipped to Moldova.
