Surgutneftegaz not unhappy about the decline in production

Surgutneftegaz has summed up its operating results for the first six months of this year. In January-June 2014, the company produced 30.4 million tons of oil that is by 0.1% less than the results of the same period of the previous year. The reason for reduction of the oil company’s production again became the dynamics of the rate in the region of its mainly activities – in the Khanty-Mansiisk autonomous district, on which about 88% of the Surgutneftegaz’s production fall. In the first six months of this year, the rate in the Khanty-Mansiisk autonomous district lost about 1% as compared with 2013 year. The increase of the production from fields in Yakutia helps the company to compensate the decline in the production in Western Siberia. In the first six months of this year, the production grew by 5% there.

Surgutneftegaz has nearly 30 licenses for development of fields in Eastern Siberia. Only five of them have been launched to date: the Talakanskoye, Alinskoye, North-Talakanskoye, East-Alinskoye and the Eastern Block of the Talakanskoye field. In 2016, the company plans to launch five fields in Yakutia and the Irkutsk region. Among them are the South Talakanskoye, Stanahskoye, Pilyudinskoye, Peleduyskoye and the Verkhnepeleduyskoe ones.
