Port of Yamal LNG needs 22.3 billion rubles

As the Kommersant has got to know, the construction of Sabetta port for the Novatek’s project Yamal LNG has risen in price by 22 billion to 69.6 billion rubles. To close this gap the Transport Ministry proposes to abandon a deep-water port in the Kaliningrad region, new ferries on route Ust-Luga-Baltiysk and to reduce government funding of theGlobal Ports container terminal in St. Petersburg. Besides, the Ministry proposes to abandon the audit to launch Sabetta in time. If the port isn’t built by 2017, monthly fines for $400 million threaten Yamal LNG.

The Kommersant has a letter of the Transport Minister Maxim Sokolov dated May 30th to the Deputy Prime Minister ,Arkady Dvorkovich, which reports about the lack of 22.3 billion rubles for the construction of the seaport Sabetta in the Yamal-Nenets autonomous district. The Transport Ministry’s head recalls that, according to the Federal Target Program, it was planned to allocate 47.3 billion rubles from the budget, but the recalculation of the design and estimate documentation the cost of federal property facilities rose in price to 69.6 billion rubles; a positive conclusion of the Russian the Directorate-General for State Environmental Review was received.
