The capacity of the Shymkent oil refinery will be enlarged to 12 million tons of oil products annually, the Vice Minister of Oil and Gas B. Akchulakov said at the session of the committee for economy policy, innovation development and entrepreneurship. They have enlarged the plant because oil products are in demand mostly in the southern regions. They have the pipes for oil supplies. The planned capacity was 12 million tons annually but the plant was built for only 6 million tons. They possess the necessary infrastructure, and the project won’t need much expense, Mr. Akchulakov claims.
