Problem on route of gas delivery to the EU from Azerbaijani field Shahk-Deniz 2 to be resolved before the end of the month

Gas from the Azerbaijani field Shah-Deniz 2 is likely to be supplied to Europe by southern route through the Trans Adriatic pipeline, the London newspaper Financial times reports.

Before the end of the current month, the international consortium, headed by BP, which develops the Shah-Deniz 2, must make the final decision on route of gas transportation to the European Union. “Two projects compete – Nabucco, which proposes to lay the main pipeline through Turkey to Bulgaria and then to Romania and Hungary to the Austrian border, - the edition writes. – The alternative project intends that the pipe will be laid from Turkey to the south – through Greece and Albania to Italy”.
