The European Commissioner for Climate and Energy Miguel Arias Cañete has said that the project of the Nord Stream - 2 gas pipeline will strengthen the European Union's dependence on Russian gas.
According to Cañete, "26% of the European gas and 80% of imports of Russian gas will go via one pipeline, which will have a strategic character".
