The Ukraine’s debt for gas supply to the area of anti-terrorist operations is $385 mln

The Ukraine’s debt for gas supply to the area of anti-terrorist operations is about 9 bln grivna ($385 mln), the Minister of Energy and Coal of the Ukraine, V. Demchishin, said.

“From September 2014 until March 2015, 1.5 bln cubic m of gas were supplied to the area of anti-terrorist operations at 6,000 grivna/thousand cubic m. In total it costs 9 bln grivna. This amount hasn’t been settled. This is a problem. Currently the supplies have fallen, but the issue concerning the gas and electric energy supply to the area of military actions needs to be settled”, Mr. Demchishin said.

On April 1st the Minister of Energy, A. Novak, said that the issue of gas supplies to Donbass was discussed by Gazprom and Naftogas but the supplies should be held according to the existing contract. In the framework of the existing contract, the supplies to Donbass should be carried out, so Gazprom settles this issue at the commercial level, Mr. Novak said.

Until now it is not clear who will pay for the gas shipped to Donbass.
